Professional Experience
Shaunt T. Arevian’s practice focuses primarily on complex business litigation.

Mr. Arevian has represented clients in a broad array of litigation in both federal and state courts.  In particular, he has litigated matters involving, among other things, breach of contract, business torts, intellectual property disputes, First Amendment and related free speech protections, professional liability, shareholder disputes, breach of fiduciary duty, and securities fraud.  In addition to his trial court practice, Mr. Arevian has also handled numerous state and federal appeals.  In recognition of his accomplishments, in 2008 and again in 2010, Mr. Arevian was named a Southern California “Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine. 

Recent matters include:
Prosecuting copyright and trade dress infringement claims on behalf of a major toy manufacturer.



Prosecuting breach of contract and declaratory relief claims arising from a reinsurance contract on behalf of a major insurance company.

Defending breach of contract, nuisance, negligence, and trespass claims arising from alleged environmental contamination and related efforts to investigate and remediate real property.

Obtaining an affirmance in full on behalf of the heirs of the late singer, Eva Cassidy, in an appeal stemming from a dispute regarding licensing and film rights.  The Court of Appeals decision, Blix Street Records v. Cassidy, et al., was certified for publication.

Obtaining an affirmance in full on behalf of a biotechnology company in an appeal involving the scope of free speech protections and the litigation privilege.

Obtaining a dismissal with prejudice of business tort claims asserted against a former CEO of a major semiconductor company.

Obtaining a dismissal with prejudice of federal securities fraud claims asserted against the former CEO and CFO of a major television manufacturer and distributor.
